February 6, 1937 – January 16, 2020
Mrs. Claudell Goree, 82, of Crossett, AR died Thursday, January 16, 2020 at her home in Crossett. She was a native of Fountain Hill in the Longview Community, a retiree of Georgia Pacific Plywood after 25 years of service, and a member of Pleasant Green Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by three sons, Willie Melvin, Tony, and Johnny Goree; one daughter, Cynthia Goree; her parents, Virgil Lee and Verta Mae-Martin Miller; four brothers, Clinton, Lemorris, Napoleon, and Amos Miller; six sisters, Annette Redmond, Geneva Tribbeth, Sarah Collins, Helen Fisher, Marie Daniel, and Rozell Duckworth. Mrs. Goree was a member of the choir at Pleasant Green Baptist Church and loved singing.
She is survived by one son, Fredrick Goree, of Crossett, AR; three daughters, Yulonda Ellis, husband Jeffrey, of Huttig, AR, Joyce Wade, and husband David, and Lora Tolefree both of Crossett, AR; one brother, Ramos Miller, of Toledo, OH; one sister, Annie Mae Curtis, of Las Vegas, NV; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
Funeral service will be Saturday, January 25, 2020, 11:00 a.m., at New Bethel Baptist Church, 309 N. Georgia St. Crossett, with Pastor Murlee Carter officiating. Active Pallbearers are Johnnie Hampton, Ricky Parker, Charlie Miller, Willie Green, Glen Moore, and Darrell Spencer. Honorary Pallbearers are the Deacons and Trustees of Pleasant Green Baptist Church. Burial in Westview Cemetery.
