Obituary

Mr. Willie Frank Cromwell, 72 of Crossett, AR transitioned Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. He was a lifelong resident of Ashley County, and owner and president of Cromwell Funeral Home. Mr. Cromwell was a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church where he served as church treasurer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Monroe and Rosetta Cason Cromwell, four brothers, Monroe James, Jr., Cardell, Cleotha, and Sylvester Cromwell.

Willie worked in the funeral service industry for over fifty years. He received his funeral director's license in 1973. He worked for Davis Funeral Home, Jones Funeral Home, and Jones Hartshorn Funeral Home. In 1987 he graduated from Dallas Institute of Funeral Service and received certification from National Board Examinations in Funeral Service Science and Funeral Service Arts. He served as Deputy Coroner for Ashley County for several years. In 1990 his dream became a reality when he opened Cromwell Funeral Home. He was a man of integrity in both his personal and professional interests. He took extraordinary pride in practicing his craft. He believed in treating every family and their loved ones with dignity and respect.

Mr. Cromwell was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed family gatherings, watching the news, and old westerns, especially "Gunsmoke." He loved listening to gospel music and watching Reverend Terry Anderson's sermons on YouTube.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of thirty years, Doris Cromwell, four sons, William Tippitt of Hamburg, AR, Terrence Cromwell of Little Rock, AR, Willie Cromwell, Jr. "Samantha" of Monticello, AR, and Derrick "Keisha" Cromwell of North Little Rock, AR, one daughter Yolanda "Normane" Martin of Crossett, AR, one brother, Lawrence "Sheryl"  Cromwell of North Little Rock, AR, two sisters, Merlene Tucker of Crossett, and Ruby "James"  Kelly of Florissant, MO, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.

Visitation is Wednesday, December 10, 2025, from 5:00-6:00 P.M. at Cromwell Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Solomon Phifer officiating. Pallbearers are Raymond Clark, Michael Scott, Danny Lowe, Mario Brown, Edward Charles Brown, Jarred Davis, Jabarre Davis, and Bernard Martin. Burial in Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff, AR.
