Mr. Willie Van "Buddy" Watt, 76 of Hamburg, AR, died Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett, AR. He was a lifelong resident of Hamburg. He was of the Baptist faith, a member of the former Hamburg VFW Post 9360, and a volunteer with Ashley County Food Pantry. Mr. Watt was an avid Razorback fan who enjoyed football, basketball, and wrestling.
He was preceded in death by his wife Bernice, parents, Frank and Duel Lambert-Watt, and one brother James Watt.
He is survived by two sons, Frankie Watt, wife Nina of Freeport, TX, Willie Van Watt, Jr. of Hamburg, AR, one daughter, Teresa Ogletree of North Little Rock, four brothers, Frank "Ed" Watt, Bobby Watt, wife Mary all of Crossett, Ronald Dean Watt of Strong, AR, Curtis Watt, wife Ruthie of Hamburg, AR, three sisters, Louise Barnett of Crossett, AR, Veralyn Oden, husband "Junior" of Hamburg, AR, Jeanette Simmons of Strong, AR, six grandchildren, Tyler, Zachery, Ambia Watt, and Greg, Marshall, and Jeremy Ogletree, and a host of other family, and friends.
Funeral services will be Sunday, January 15, 2012 at 2:30 pm at Cromwell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Watt officiating. Pallbearers are Lawrence Watt, Michael Simmons, Kenny Leveritt, Joey Barnett, Doyle Barnett, and Bobby Clark. Honorary Pallbearers are Harold Hollis, Luther Richardson, and the members of the former VFW of Hamburg, AR. Visitation is January 14, 2012 from 6-8:00 pm at Cromwell Funeral Home Chapel. Burial in Crossroad Cemetery under the directions of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
