Mr. William Henry Wimberly "Buddy Ruff", 83 of Crossett, AR, died Friday, April 18, 2014 at Pinewood Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was a Crossett native, a former resident of Los Angeles, CA for 42 years, and had lived in Crossett for the past 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack & Agnes Jenkins Wimberly and two brothers, Clemmie & Jack Wimberly, Jr. Buddy Ruff enjoyed fishing and football. His favorite college team was the Oklahoma Sooners. His favorite NFL team was the Indianapolis Colts.

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Mrs. Sue Ann Johnson Wimberly, three sons:  William Wimberly, Jr. of Las Vegas, NV, Don Corinels Wimberly of Vacaville, CA,  Patrick Wimberly of Ohio, one daughter, Sankista Wimberly (Richard) of Palmdale, CA, mother-in-law, Annie Currle (Robert) of Rockford, IL, sister-in-law, Johelen Griffin (Gene) of Crossett, AR, brothers-in-law, Robert Gregg of Warren, AR & Charles Macon (Madeline) Rockford, IL, seven grandchildren, special nieces, Clemmie Mae Wimberly and Lee Ella Wimberly both of Kansas City, MO, special cousin, Thomas Johnson (Ruby) of Crossett, AR, and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services are Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Gates Chapel A.M.E. Church with Rev. Harriel White, III, Rev. Tyrone Broomfield, Rev. Barbara Langstaff & Rev. Eddie B. Loggins, officiating. Active pallbearers are Mario Brown, Paul Brown, Ralph Dunning, Walter Hendrix, Tyrone Moore & Newton Washington. Honorary pallbeareres are Trustees of Gates Chapel A.M.E. Church. Burial in Carlock Cemetery under the directions of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
