Mr. William Ellis Gilbert, 67 of Crossett, AR, died Monday, April 7, 2008 at Ashley County Medical Center. Mr. Gilbert was a native of Crossett, AR, a former 30 year resident of Chicago, IL, and a resident of Crossett for the past 11 years. He was a retired baker, and a member of Gates Chapel AME Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Gilbert, his parents, Alex Lamar Gilbert & Lula Hawkins Baker and one brother, Willie Lamar Gilbert.

He is survived by two brothers: Christopher Gilbert of Los Angeles, CA & Rheuben Gilbert, wife Nadine of Merino Valley, CA, and two sisters, Patrica Cook, husband Zeb of Los Angeles, CA & Dorothy Davis, husband Ray of Crossett, AR.

Services are Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Gates Chapel AME Church with Rev. Karl Hammock, officiating. Burial in Westview Cemetery under the directions of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
