Vera Martin, age 88 of Hamburg, AR ( Pine Hill Community) transitioned Sunday, August 2, 2026 at her home surrounded by family. She was a native of the Pine Hill Community, and a former resident of Chicago, IL. She was a caterer for several years and was a member of House of Prayer Ministries.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Annie Tucker Simpson, two sisters, Izola Jackson and Lela Mae Scales, and three brothers, Lester 'Buck' Simpson, David 'Bubba' Simpson, Jr., and Lawrence Simpson. Vera enjoyed going to church, fishing, traveling and especially going to garage sales. She loved fellowshipping and cooking for her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Martin, one son, Bobby Goss and partner Chastity of Ft. Smith, AR, three daughters, Alicia Childress of Hamburg, AR, Kuan and husband Bruce Nightingale, and Shakiara Childress all of Jonesboro, AR, one sister, Sue Fleming of St. Louis, MO, eleven grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held later.  Arrangements conducted by Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, Arkansas.
