Mr. Venson "Pokey" Davis, 56 of Crossett, AR, died Friday, September 19, 2014 at his residence. Pokey was born on May 16, 1958 in Hamburg, AR, he did maintenance work for Crossett Housing Authority and was a member of Phillip Grove Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Icola Davis Watkins & David "Bubba" Simpson, three brothers, Benjamin "Ben" Cason, Levell Cason & Clark Simpson and two sisters, Latrice & Martha Sue Simpson. Pokey loved having cook-outs and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by one son, Courtney Pruitt, four brothers, Mickey Davis (Margaret) of New York, Mark Watkins & Antonio Cason of Hamburg, AR, Don Foster of Crossett, AR, seven sisters: Mary Howard (George Jr.), Ada Stanley (Glen) & Rosemary Simpson all of Hamburg, AR, Idella Caldwell (Robert) & Tressia Bowman (Dewayne) both of Crossett, AR, Beverly Logan (Kenneth) & Kimberly Doakes both of Jacksonville, AR, special friend Tysa Prewitt of Hamburg, AR, and a host of nieces, nephews, loved ones and friends.

Funeral services are Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 11:00 at Epistles of God Church of Deliverance with Rev. Horace Ingram, officiating. Active pallbearers are Richard Montgomery, Lloyd Collins, John Ware, Jimmy Pippen, Ray Stanley and Calvin Barnett. Honorary pallbearers are the Hamburg High School Class of 1976, his nephews & James Carter, Jr. Burial in Phillip Grove Cemetery under the directions of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
