Mrs. Velma D. Maxwell, 74 of Hamburg, AR, died Friday, August 16, 2013 at Chicot Memorial Medical Center. She was a native of Hastings, OK, a resident of Ashley County for the past 50 years, a homemaker and a Baptist.

Mrs. Maxwell was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Maxwell, one son, Richard H. Maxwell, one grandson, Joseph Landon Maxwell, her parents, Loren & Lois Hodges Cassady, two brothers, Paul Cassady and J.T. Cassady. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by one son, Charles D. Maxwell, wife Emma of Hermitage, AR, one daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" Griever, husband Jimmy of Hamburg, AR, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a host of other family, loved ones and friends.

Graveside funeral services are Sunday, August 18, 2013 at 2:30 pm at Beech Creek Cemetery with Bro. James Thompson officiating. Arrangements by Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.

Visitation Saturday, August 17 from 6-7 pm at Cromwell Funeral Home.
