Valerie Renae Smith, 50 of Crossett, AR passed away Monday November 21, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving husband and children. Valerie was a native of Ethelsville, AL, and was actively working to complete her studies as a Registered Nurse at SouthArk. Throughout her journey with Triple Negative Breast Cancer, she searched for avenues in which she could advocate for those also struggling with her diagnosis, as well as giving back to show appreciation for the countless care teams that became her first line of defense. Valerie was a devoted wife of 11 years, a mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister. She loved listening to music, shopping, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband Christopher Smith of Crossett, AR, four daughters Lakeymeshia Townsend-Ward (Reginald) of Tuscaloosa, AL, Lakeyneshia Townsend of Starkville, MS, Alexia Terry of Little Rock, AR, and Rosalind Smith of Little Rock, AR, two sons Randall Terry Jr., Randarius Terry , both of Crossett, her parents Bobby Guyton and Dorothy Wells-Guyton of Millport, AL, three sisters Aretha Brock (Jimmy Rae) of Fayette, AL, Bobbie Lynn Burke (Bobby) of Millport, AL, and Serina Guyton of Millport, AL, one brother Darrell Guyton (Tierra) Tuscaloosa, AL, five grandchildren Jaidelyn Forest, Kaberin Townsend, Reginald Ward II, Raegan Ward, and Caizley Young.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Ethelsville, AL at 11:00 AM with Rev. Benny Henry officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, December 1, 2022, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Cromwell Funeral Home Chapel. Active Pallbearers are Randall Terry Jr., Randarius Terry , Deseandrick Guyton, Bobby Burke, Dudley Lee Riley, Anthony Pate, Deandre McGraw, and Mark Mills. Honorary Pallbearers Christopher Smith, Darrell Guyton, Bobby Lee Guyton, and Reginald Ward Sr. Burial will occur at the Westview Cemetery in Crossett, AR under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
