Mr. Tony Delet "Goat" Goree, 54, of Crossett died Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at Ashley County Medical Center. He was a life-long resident of Crossett, a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church, a veteran of the U.S. Army, and he worked for Crossett Sanitation Dept. for approximately 30 years before his health failed. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas "Tom" Goree; two brothers: Willie Melvin and Johnny Goree; one sister, Cynthia Goree.
He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Philisha Lavaly-Goree; one son, Denarius Buriss of Arlington, TX; three daughters: Patrice Brown, Jessica Brown both of Crossett, and Danielle Blackwell of Maumelle, AR; his mother, Claudell Goree of Crossett; one brother, Fred Goree of Crossett; three sisters: Joyce Wade, husband David, Lora Tolefree all of Crossett, and Linda Ellis, husband, Jeff, of Huttig, AR, two grandchildren, Alivia Bohanan and Malik Brown; mother-in-law, Uneda Tillman, husband, Oliver, of Maumelle, AR; and a host of all other family members and friends.
Funeral services are Saturday, September 29, at 3 p.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Murlee Carter officiating. Pallbearers are Anthony Dawkins, Sherman Dawkins, Preston Girtman, Jr., James Phifer, Frederick Belin & Milton Gaston. Burial in Westview Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc. of Hamburg, AR.
