Rev. Tonja Paquita Jackson, 60, of Lake Village, AR died Saturday, October 6, 2018, at her home in Lake Village. She was a native of Crossett, AR, a Methodist Minister, and a member of St. Peter African Methodist Episcopal Church in Lake Village. Rev. Jackson was a former pastor of Young Chapel A.M.E. Church in Dermott, AR, Mt. Olive A.M.E Church in Tarry, AR, and St. John A.M.E. Church in Watson, AR.
She is preceded in death by her father, Matthew Jackson; her mother, Raye Marie Evans Jackson Moss on September 14, 2018; her step-father, Malvin Moss; and one sister, Christeen Jackson. Rev. Jackson loved leading people to Christ, teaching the word of God, gospel music, watching sports, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by one daughter, Falana Jackson-Rice, husband Robert, of Little Rock, AR; one son, Angelo Greene, Sr. of Little Rock, AR; two sisters, Rhedonda Jackson-Palmer, husband John, of Lake Village, AR and Gabrielle Jackson, of Warren, OH; one brother, Maurice Jackson, of Canton, OH; seven grandchildren, Angelo Greene, Jr., Frederika Greene, Lil Gregory Greene, An'Dreliya Greene, De'Angellis Greene, Toraylan Smith, and Anijuwuan Wilson; one special niece, Chaunea Jackson, and her children, Benny Mosley III and Mia Marie Mosley; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family and friends.
Services will be Saturday, October 13, 2018, at 2:00 P.M., at Faith Fellowship in Lake Village, AR, with Rev. J.R. Hooper officiating. Active Pallbearers are Robert Dickson, Kenny Lucas, Billy Perry, Larry Palmer, Ronnie Wilson, Dale Young, and Ellis McCree. Burial will be at New Cemetery in Lake Village, AR, under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc. of Hamburg, AR.
Visitation will be Friday, October 12, 2018, 5:00-7:00 P.M., at St. Peter African Methodist Episcopal Church in Lake Village, AR.
