Obituary

Thomas Ray Mayes Sr., 61 of Crossett, AR, died Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at the Dermott City Nursing Home. He was a native of Crossett, and a former resident of Jacksonville, FL for many years. Mr. Mayes was of the Baptist faith, and a retiree of the U.S. Navy as a Chief Petty Officer. Mr. Mayes was an avid fisherman, and he loved playing dominos.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Neldia Marie Mayes, two brothers, Bill Williams, and Albert Parker.

Survived by his wife of three years, Daisy Mae Franklin-Mayes, one son, Thomas Ray Mayes, Jr., wife Tamiko of Houston, TX, three step-sons, Marcus Bornslater of Arlington, TX, Travis Hollins of Crossett, AR, Dequan Collins, three daughters Nichelle Mayes of Belmont, NC, Tresha Medina, husband Carlos of Las Vegas, NV, Thomecia Mayes of Jacksonville, FL, his father and step mother , Nathaniel and Almetha Blake of Crossett, three brothers, Marty McGowan, wife Darlene of Kamiah, ID, Germiles Briggs, and Shadell Williams, both of Las Angeles, CA, three step-brothers, Cleophus Ward of St. Louis, MO, Michael Adams, wife Sylvia of Chicago, IL, Lexie Lewis, wife Sandra of Crossett, AR, three sisters, Cleatris Smith of Dallas, TX, Eva Briggs, and Tammie Parker, both of Las Angeles, CA, one step-sister, Earlene Hollins of Crossett, AR, twelve grandchildren, and a host of family, friends, and loved ones.

Memorial Services will be Saturday, December 17, 2011 at 3:00 P.M. at Cromwell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Bouie officiating.
