Mr. Theodore Jordan Pope, Jr., 79 of Hamburg, AR, died Friday, January 22, 2010 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. He was a native of Montrose, AR, and a resident of Hamburg for the past 21 years. He was a retiree of Sanyo Electronics, and a member of the Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his first wife (of 47 years), Betsy Faye Pope, and his parents, Theodore Jordan & Arnice Reid Pope. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry in 1954 from Arkansas A&M University (now Univ. of AR at Monticello) and was also a former Men's Sunday School teacher at Promise Lnad Missionary Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 4 1/2 years, Helen Mitchell Pope, three sons: Circuit Judge Sam Pope, wife Gayle of Hamburg, AR, Theodore Pope III, wife Linda of Blakely, GA, William Ross Pope, wife Lorraine of Bryant, AR, one brother, Joe Daniel Pope, wife Elaine of San Antonio, TX, six grandchildren: Samuel Eric Pope, Meghan Pope, Theodore Pope IV, Caroline Pope, Elizabeth Faye Pope Hill, husband Nick and William R. Pope II and one great-granddaughter, Presley Elizabeth Hill.

Memorial services were Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Promise Land Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Ross & Bro. Michael Reese, officiating. Burial in Promise Land Cemetery.
