Obituary

Mr. Theodies "Fat" Savage, 74 died Thursday, September 23, 2010 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas in Eldorado. He was a native of Reydell, Arkansas but a resident of Crossett. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a Georgia Pacific Paper Mill retiree. He was also a member of Hunters Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where he served on the usher ministry. Mr. Savage loved fishing and working on cars.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Marshall Savage and Mary Lee Hubbard; four brothers: Benny, Melvin, Tommy Lee and Willie Savage, and three sisters: Gloria, Wilma, and Willie Mae Savage.

He is survived by his wife: Dorothy "Lady" Savage of Crossett, Arkansas; three stepsons: DeJuan Simpson of Little Rock, Arkansas, Clyde Franklin of Denver, Colorado, and Derringer Kennedy of Bastrop, Louisiana; four stepdaughters: Stephanie McDaniel and husband Terry, and Cynthia Van and husband Charles both of Bastrop, Louisiana, Kimberly Larkins and husband Donald of Mer Rouge, Louisiana, and Carletta Pointer and husband George of Collinston, Louisiana; five brothers: Curtis and wife Samella, Freddie, Mack, and Benny Ray Savage all of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and Roy Savage of Little Rock, Arkansas; five sisters: Ruby Taylor and Bessie Vaughn both of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Margie Pleasant of St. Louis, Missouri, Alberta Shivers and Dorothy Johnson both of Los Angeles, California; fifteen grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 1, 2010 at 1:00P.M. at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Wilton Baines officiating. Active pallbearers are William Willis, Willie Taylor, Donald Joe Smith, Ed Lee Savage, Dennis Williams, Melvin Smith, Quincy Sims, and Ricky Collins. Honorary pallbearers are Milton Blakely, Benny Ray Savage, Freddie Savage, Roy Savage, Curtis Savage, Mack Savage, Troy Jordan, and the Ushers and Deacons Ministry of Hunters Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be Thursday, September 30, 2010 from 6:00-7:00P.M. at Cromwell Funeral Home. Interment will be at St. Peters Cemetery in Thebes, Arkansas under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, Arkansas.
