Shirley Sue Nuckolls, age 86, of Crossett died Friday April 23, 2021 at her home in Crossett. She was a native of San Angelo, TX., but a resident of Crossett for 43 years. Shirley was a retired registered nurse and a member of the North Crossett First Freewill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Roderick Nuckolls, one son John Dennis Day, her parents William Clifford Smoote and Frances Marian Moon- Smoote, one grandson Roderick Michael Day, three brothers Norman, Charles and Dr. Stanley Smoote, two sisters Mary Brady and Jane Carson. Ms. Nuckolls enjoyed cooking, traveling, POGO and she really loved her work as a registered nurse .

She is survived by four sons David Day(Nancy) of Saraland AL.; James Day(Peggie) of Bastrop, LA.; Jerry Day of Crossett and Thomas Day of Panama, FL.; two daughters Elizabeth Sue Day of Crossett and Judy Langley of Monticello, two sisters Patricia Beard of Birmingham, AL. and Marilyn Holden(Charles) of Wiggins, MS.; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

There will be no service. Visitation will be Wednesday April 28, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Cromwell Funeral Home.
