Mr. Sedric Fitzgerald Thomas, Sr., 48 of Texarkana, TX, died Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Christus St. Michael Health Systems in Texarkana. He was a native of Montrose, AR, but had resided in Texarkana, TX for the past 17 years. He was an LPN at Edgewood and Waterton Nursing Homes, was a retiree of the US Navy Reserve and had also served in the US Army and Army National Guard, and was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jessie Lee Thomas, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Sheila Hawkins Thomas, three sons: Mark Hawkins, Demarcus Brown & Sedric Thomas, Jr. all of Texarkana, TX, two daughters, LaToya Hawkins (Chris) & Ashley Thomas (John) both of Texarkana, TX, his mother, Virgil Carolina & stepfather Henry Carolina of Montrose, AR, four brothers, eight sisters, fourteen grandchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Funeral services are Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 10:30 am at Montrose Missionary First Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Hadley, officiating. Pallbearers are nephews. Honorary pallbearers are Mark Hawkins, Demarcus Brown, Sedric Thomas, Jr., Charles Culbreath & Quintin Carolina. Burial in Montrose Cemetery.
