Mrs. Sarah J. Brown, 65 of Crossett died Friday, November 26, 2010, at Cornerstone Hospital in West Monroe, LA. She was a native of Ashley County and a lifelong resident of Crossett. Mrs. Brown was a graduate of T.W. Daniel High School Class of 1963, and a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church where she served in the Senior Choir, Literature Club and was a member of Sunday School Class # 2.
She was preceded in death by one son, Leroy Patton III, one daughter, Cassandra Fenison, her parents, Moses and Lenora Summerville, and one sister, Ruby Dixon.
Survivors include her husband of twenty-five years, Charles Brown of Crossett, AR, one son, Reginald Patton of Detroit, MI, one daughter, Sharon Patton of Crossett, AR, one brother, Willie T. Summerville and wife Val of Champagne, IL, two sisters, Annie P. Summerville of Crossett, AR, and Bertha Gilbert of Champagne, IL; five grandchildren, Quinshanna Johnson, Derrius Patton, Jasmine Griffin, Julius Fenison, and Dy'Shara Patton, two great-grandchildren, Rondarrion Johnson and Ja'maya Patton, and several other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Jesse Radford, Jr. officiating. Active pallbearers are Antonio Peoples, Robert Williams, Darrell Gilbert, Kevin Vincent, William Anderson, and Connell Fenison. Honorary pallbearers are Senior Choir and Sunday School Class # 2. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 1, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Cromwell Funeral Home. Interment will be in Westview Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, Arkansas.
