Ms. Sara Ann Singleton, 57 of Little Rock, AR, formerly of Hamburg, AR, died Thursday, February 10, 2011 at St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock, AR.

Ms. Singleton was a native of Hamburg, but a resident of Little Rock for the past 39 years. She fought for equality for Women's rights, Housing and African-American rights. She was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Gosby 'Joe' Colbert and Martha Mildred Singleton, four brothers: Timothy Barnett and Charles Singleton, Dexter and Robert Colbert, four sisters: Mildred Singleton and Ruby Bennett, Deloris Colbert Haltiwanner and Helen Colbert.

Survivors include one son, Aaron Morgan, Jr. and wife Louise of Milwaukee, WI; one daughter, Valerie Valco Henderson of Madison, WI; eleven brothers, Willie 'Bo Pete' Shaw and wife Louvinia and Y.T. 'Butch' Singleton and wife Diane both of Little Rock, AR, Curtis Howard and wife Gloria of Hamburg, AR and John Howard of St. Paul, NC, Cleodis Colbert, Charles Colbert, Steve Colbert, Gabriel Colbert all of Pine Bluff, AR, Gosby Colbert II of Denver, CO; twelve sisters, Mary Dean Poole of Detroit, MI, Eva Barnett of Baton Rouge, LA, Leontyne Howard of Pomona, CA and Denise Hipp of Kansas City, MO, Carolyn Colbert of Milwaukee, WI, Devorah Robinson Neal of Milwaukee, WI, Elain Colbert of Milwaukee, WI, Stephanie Colbert of Atlanta, GA, Brenda, Debra, Regina Colbert, Amy Lee Colbert of Pine Bluff, AR; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services are Friday, February 18, 2011 at 11:00am at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Willie R. Taylor officiating. Following the service, remains will be cremated. Pallbearers are Cornealius Girtman, Alfred Robertson, Wally Jenkins, Willie Williams, Ray Stanley and Jimmy Downs.
