Mr. Samuel Lee Walton, 66 of Dallas, TX, died Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Vitas Hospice in Dallas, TX. He was a native of Hamburg, AR, a resident of Dallas for the past six months, a past resident of Monticello for 38 years and a past resident of Pine Bluff for six years. He was a retired supervisor for Sharper Image, and was a member and deacon at Bethlehem Church of Christ Holiness in Hamburg.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Griggs Woods, his father, Alvert Walton and one brother, Phillip Walker. He loved singing, his church and served faithfully as a deacon until his health failed.

He is survived by is wife of 20 years, Dorothy Blackshire Walton, one son, Samuel Lee Walton, Jr. of Monticello, AR, four daughters: Markeisha Walton of Monticello, AR, Tracey Briggs of Little Rock, AR, Kimberly Baker & Taylor Todd both of Conway, AR, five brothers: James Tucker of Pine Bluff, AR, Tommie Walker, wife Mildred of Little Rock, AR, Carson Griggs, wif Barbara of Little Rock, AR, Darrell Griggs of Orlando, FL, Colvita Griggs, wife Yolanda of Arlington, TX, three sisters: Helen Nixon, husband Clifford and Agnes Gibbs all of Dallas, TX, Regina Griggs, husband Don of Monticello, AR, fifteen grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Funeral services are Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Bethlehem Church of Christ Holiness with Eld. Robert Adams, Jr., officiating. Active pallbearers are Lee Troy Ware, John Ware, Roosevelt Simpson, Edward Gibbs, Jermaine Mitchell & Anthony Gibbs. Honorary pallbearers are Darren Griggs, Colvita Griggs, Carlton Griggs, Kinte Cole and Kevin Walker. Burial in Johnson Memorial Cemetery.
