Ruthie Mae Tabson, age 84, of Lake Village passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Lake Village Rehabilitation and Care Center. She was a native of Parkdale but a resident of Lake Village. She was a homemaker, a member of the Morning Star Baptist Church in Lake Village.

She was preceded in death by four sons Eugene and Henry Downs, William Henderson and George Edward Hester, her parents Leander and Ozell Williams- Godfrey, a brother Percy Godfrey, a sister Mable Stanley, a great grandson Tyler Ashford and her grandparents Sam and Ella Williams. Ruthie enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Joe Tabson, three sons Timmy Downs of Hamburg, Jimmy Downs of Lake Village and Earnest Downs(Dorothy) of Little Rock, six daughters Linda Downs of Little Rock, Diane Keith (John) of Jonesboro, GA., Rinda Collins(Calester) of Round Rock, TX., Marshay Bell of Houston, TX., Patricia Hester of Bonita, LA and Vera McJoy(Ceante) of Lake Village, two grandsons that she raised as her own Jason Hester of Lake Village and Henry Johnson(Trudaya) of Little Rock, thirty-one grandchildren, fifty-three great grandchildren and one great great grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends.

Service will be Saturday May 22, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Central Baptist Church in Lake Village with Rev. E.C. Allen and Rev. Arthur Haney officiating followed by burial at the Zion Hill Cemetery in Parkdale. Pallbearers are Edward Hester, Timmy Downs Jr., Josh Downs, Earnest Downs Jr., Kedrick Mitchell and Daudre Parker. Honorary pallbearers are grandsons and nephews.
