Mr. Rufus "Prune" Minnieweather, 71 of Crossett, died Thursday, April 7, 2011 his sons residence. He was a native of Thebes, AR but resided in Crossett for the past 60 yrs, and was a retired Logger in the Timber Industry.

He was preceded in death by one daughter Vicky Minnieweather, his companion of many years Dorothy Hendrix, his parents Rufus Minnieweather and Robbie Jackson, and two brothers Eddie and Mike Minnieweather.

Mr. Minnieweather is survived by six sons: Chris, Phillip, Brooks, Sammie Lee, and Rufus Minnieweather III all of Crossett, AR, Ricky Minnieweather of Bastrop, LA, four daughters: Wendy McMiller, husband Jimmie of St. Louis, MO, Mary Ann Johnson, husband Kelvin of Bastrop, LA, Alice Marie Burns, husband Curtis and Teresa Couser, husband Derrick all of Crossett, AR, three brothers Marvin Minnieweather of Las Vegas, NV, Sherman Jackson of Crossett, AR, and James Jackson of Pensacola, CA, six sisters: Ruth Gambell of Detroit, MI, Butina Ellis, Christiana Dupree, Gertrue Hampton all of Crossett, AR, Mildred Minnieweather of Bonita, LA, and Bernice Minnieweather of Bastrop, LA, thirty four grand-children, nineteen great grand-children and a host of other family members and friends.

Services are Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Gates Chapel AME Church with Rev. Tracy Hampton. Visitation Wednesday, April 13, 2011 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at Cromwell Funeral Home. Burial in Carlock Cemetery under the directions of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.
