Obituary

Rufus Marion "Mack" McClain, age 93 of Hamburg( Milo Community) died Wednesday April 28, 2021 at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. He was a lifelong resident of Ashley County and the Milo Community. He was a retired auto body repairman and a member of Cloverdale Assembly of God Church but attended Egypt Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by a son Michael McClain December 2006, a grandson Benjamin Cook, his parents Rufus Burns and Fannie Mae Pace McClain, five brothers Arnold, Arthur, Alphis, Adriane and Eddie McClain, five sisters Bertie Locke, Jessie Kyle, Beatrice Mills, Willie McClain and Lois Hemphill. Mack was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He loved sitting around campfires telling his stories.

He is survived by his wife of fifty eight years Jane Jeffers-McClain, one son Wayne McClain(Diane) of Hamburg, three daughters Sue Jeffers, Beverly McClain both of Crossett and Marsha Mitchell(Samuel) of Eldorado, six grandchildren Brittney Roberson, Gina Creekmore, Brad Boykin, Ashley Henry,  Shane and Jonathan Cook, Charles Jeffers, Jr. and six great grandchildren.

Graveside service Sunday May 02, 2021 at Carlock Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. with Brother Buddy Boykin officiating. Honorary Pallbearers are Jerry Jeffers, Junior Jeffers, Charles Jeffers, Dalton Roberson, Kyle Creekmore and Andy Savage. Visitation will be from 1:15-2:00.
