Ruby Jewel
Penn
December 19, 1955 – January 23, 2019
Ms. Ruby Jewel Penn, 63, of Crossett, AR died Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at her daughter's home in Kathleen, GA, surrounded by her family. She was a lifelong resident of Crossett, a former employee of Georgia Pacific Plywood Mill, and a member of Fudge Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by one son, Norice Penn, Jr. "Bo", her father, Jessie Tucker; a brother, Jessie Tucker, Jr; and an infant sister. Ruby was a devoted mother and grandmother and had a close bond with all her family. She had a talent for growing indoor and outdoor plants. She loved cooking for loved ones and friends, reading her Bible, going to church, and watching televised ministry. Ruby was never one to complain, when asked how she was doing she would always let you know how blessed she was. If you ever wanted to hear a good Word about God and have your day brightened, a phone call from Ruby would do the trick, as her uplifting and positive words made you realize how truly blessed you were.
She is survived by one daughter, Tamiko Penn-Morley(Anthony), of Kathleen, GA; her mother, Merlene Tucker, of Crossett, AR; one sister, Patricia Leichmon(Tracy), of Strong, AR; three grandchildren, Norreisha Vaughn(Chance), of Wiggins, MS, Deja Hall and Destiny Penn, both of Kathleen, GA; one great-grandchild; a daughter-in-law, Kimberly James-Penn, of Hot Springs, AR; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
Service will be Friday, February 1, 2019, 1:00 P.M., at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Taci Gilliam officiating. Active Pallbearers are Cedric Tucker, Lawrence Tucker, Walter Hendrix, Curt Tucker, Earnest Cromwell, and Terrence Tippit. Honorary Pallbearers are the Deacons and Trustees of Fudge Baptist Church. Burial in Ryles Cemetery.
