Mrs. Ruby Jean Penix, 76 of Crossett, AR, died Monday, September 15, 2008 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado. Mrs. Penix was a native of Urbana, AR, a resident of Crossett for the past 39 years, a homemaker, and a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist. She was preceded in death by a son, Earnest Chambliss, her parents, Harvey & Hattie Mae Littleton Thomas, one brother, Terry Lee Thomas and two sisters: Ella Mae Thomas & Erma Brantley.

She is survived by two sons: Kevin Penix of Little Rock, AR and Albert Chambliss of Crossett, AR, two daughters, Ruth Ann Duke, husband Robert of Crossett, AR & Eurolean Penix of Fayetteville, AR, one brother, Tyree Thomas of Detroit, MI, two sisters, Mittie Withers of Los Angeles, CA & Evelyn Davis of Detroit, MI, ten grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 11:00 AM at New Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Allen Canley, officiating. Pallbearers are Johntario Penix, Chadrick Avery, Christopher Avery, Brandon Walker, Marcileno Reed and Redo Reed. Honorary pallbearers are Sean Penix, Rodriguez Duke, Albert Chambliss, Antonio Reed, Jeremy Martin, Justin Martin, Jarod Martin, Kyle Penix & Jarren Jefferson. Burial in Westview Cemetery.
