Mr. Robert Lee Danzy, 69 of Crossett died Sunday, October 10, 2010 at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. He was a native of Parkdale but a resident of Crossett. He had a lengthy work career but found his life's work in the profession of law enforcement. He served as a police officer in the cities of Crossett, Eudora, and culminated his career as Chief of Police in Gould. He was a member of Davis Memorial Church of God in Christ. Mr. Danzy loved to barbeque and thought he was the best.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Ellis and Ileen Thomas Danzy, Sr.; three brothers: Eddie, Steven, and Leroy Danzy; and three sisters: Nancy Williams, Ernestine Gales, and Emma Lee Burdette.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 49 years: Effie Simmons Danzy of Crossett; three sons: Robert Earl Danzy and wife Deloise of Dallas Texas, Mark Ellis Danzy, and John Edward Danzy both of Crossett; two daughters: Janna Elaine Danzy Jackson of Carrollton Texas, and Princess Lee Danzy of Monticello Arkansas; four brothers: Willie James Danzy and Ellis Danzy, Jr. and wife Aretha both of Crossett, James L. Danzy and wife Shirley of Dermott, Supt. Charles Danzy and wife Rowena of Akron Ohio; six sisters: Ola B. Moore of Cleveland Ohio, Verleen Matheney and husband Bishop Roy Matheney, Sr. of El Dorado, Jewel Smith and husband Charles of Las Vegas Nevada, Margaret Richmond and husband Otis of Pine Bluff, Shirley Williams and husband Bishop Joseph Williams of Little Rock, and Linda Page and husband John of Dermott; sixteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, five brother-in-laws, four sister-in-laws, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Homegoing celebration will be Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 1:00P.M. at Davis Memorial Church of God in Christ with Supt. Charles Danzy officiating. Active pallbearers are Rahmel King, Edrick Danzy, William Simmons, Bobby Simmons, Josephus Williams, and Anthony Danzy. Honorary pallbearers are Robert Matheney, Ronald Matheney, Ricky Matheney, Ralph Matheney, Rodney Matheney, Douglas Simmons, Joe Louis Simmons, Johnathan Danzy, and Jermaine Wade. Visitation will be Friday, October 15, 2010 from 6:00-8:00P.M. at Cromwell Funeral Home. Interment will be at Westview Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.
