Mr. Richard Edward "Jake" Watt, 94 of Crossett, AR, died Sunday, February 17, 2013 at his residence. He was a lifelong resident of Crossett, a retired employee of Chase Bag Company and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vesta Evora Watt on July 2, 1996, his adopted son, Thurlow Garrett, his parents, Richard Marion & Maud Norrell Watt, three brothers, John Everett Watt, Alvin "Mutt" Watt & Gean Watt, two sisters, Gladys Mae Hamm and Robbie Lee Bryant. Jake was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.
He is survived by one sister, Elizabeth Neel of Crossett, AR, a very special friend, Bernice McClain, his grandson, Gerald Glen Garrett, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and loved ones.
Funeral services are Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 11:00 am at Cromwell Funeral Home with Bro. John Martin & Bro. Willie R. Taylor, officiating. Pallbearers are Hamp Neel, Wayne Bryan, Richard E. Watt, Randall B. Watt, Arron T. Watt & John R. Watt. Honorary pallbearers are David Gurich, Paul Savage, Donnie M. Watt and Donnie R. Watt. Burial in Crossroads Cemetery under the directions of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR. Memorials may be made to the Cloverdale Assembly of God Church Youth, 132 Ashley 15 Road, Crossett, AR 71635.
