Mr. Ray Davis, 87 of Crossett, AR, died Thursday, December 13, 2012 at the Ashley County Medical Center. He was a native of Butler, AR, a former resident of Summit, IL for over 40 years, and had resided in Crossett for the past 15 years. He was a retiree of CPC Manufacturing Plant in Summit, IL, and was of the Baptist Faith.

Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Thompson, his parents, Jessie & Angie Brown Davis and four brothers: Aaron, Chester, Michael and Doris Davis. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy Gilbert Davis, one son, Rafael Davis of Bellwood, IL, one daughter, Ferendianda Parrott of Summit, IL, one brother, Jessie Davis, wife Shirley of Chicago, IL, three sisters: Myrthis Waller of Summit, IL, Mary Speech & Vera Irons both of Haynesville, LA, two step-children, eleven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one step-great grandchild.

Funeral services are Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Friendship Baptist Church in Haynesville, LA, with Rev. Roger Curry, officiating. Pallbearers are Robert Davis, Tommy Davis, Rev. Roger Speech, Dewetha Malone, Rafael Davis and Jessie Davis. Burial in Gorden Heritage Cemetery, Haynesville, LA, under the directions of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
