Mr. R D Morgan, 67, of Hamburg, AR, died Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. Mr. Morgan was a native of Falcon, AR, but a resident of Hamburg for 50 years, a retiree of Georgia Pacific Paper Mill, and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon for the past 20 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Amos & Beadie Mae McQuay Morgan, one brother, Worthy Morgan, two sisters, Opha J. Morgan & Mary Dean Griffin (April 22, 2009), one grandson, Jason Morgan.
He is survived by four sons, Berryll L. Tucker of Little Rock; David & wife, Edna Morgan, of Arlington, TX; Gabriel & wife, Patricia Morgan, of Lake Village; Quinton Martin of Little Rock; two daughters, Jacqueline E. Morgan & Anita S. Morgan, all of Hamburg; two brothers, Rev. Andrew & wife, Ruthie Morgan, and Rev. Aaron & wife, Myrtis Morgan, all of Milwaukee, WI; four sisters, Flora & husband, David Miller, Faye & husband, Samuel Collins, all of Hamburg; Othello Yates of Gary, IN; Peggy & husband, Willie Williams, of Milwaukee, WI, six grandchildren & six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are Saturday, Sept. 12, 1 p.m., at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Willie R. Taylor officiating. Visitation is Friday, Sept. 11, 6 - 7 p.m. at Cromwell Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Amos Scott Morgan, Allen Huggins, Robert Stanley, Tremell Yates, Aaron Morgan, Jr., Willie Williams, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Male Choir. Burial in Johnson Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home.
