Mrs. Queen E. Jackson, 79 of Crossett, AR, died Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Stonegate Villa Health & Rehabilitation. She was born on March 25, 1935, was a Bradley County native and had lived in Crossett for the past 55 years. She was a former employee of Georgia Pacific Plywood Mill and was a member of Epistles of God Church of Deliverance.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Jackson, two sons, Eddie Colen and Johnny Jackson, a grandson, Terry Jackson, her parents, Maggie & Robert Brodie and Willie Ridgell, and a daughter-in-law, Joyce Colen. Mother Jackson was very active and dutiful in church, she had formerly served as youth director, deaconess and had also organized the young adult usher board while at First Baptist Church, she later joined Epistles of God Church of Deliverance and served as head Mother of the Mother Board.
She is survived by six sons: Rev. Curtis Jackson, Sr. (Linda), Bobby D. Jackson (Patty), Colby Jackson (Jeanetta) all of Crossett, AR, Johnny Fisher (Debra) of Warren, AR, Rev. Travis Jackson, Sr. (Carolyn) & Winford Jackson (Merdis) both of Fordyce, AR, three daughters: Patricia Jackson & Jacqulyn Wills (William) both of Crossett, AR, Carolyn Dismute (Lonnie) of Fordyce, AR, twenty-six grandchildren, forty great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, special families: Steppes Family of Warren, AR, Otistene & Don Smith of Little Rock, AR, the Davis Family of Dallas, TX, the Slater Family of Milwaukee, WI and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are Friday, September 19, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Epistles of God Church of Deliverance with Apostle Chester Bell and Pastor Mary Arnold, officiating. Active pallbearers are Mario Brown, Colon Sims, Jeff Holyfield, Bruce Wright, Chad Johnson and Lawrence Tucker. Honorary pallbearers are Grandsons. Burial in Westview Cemetery.
Visitation Thursday, September 18 from 6-8 pm in the Cromwell Funeral Home Chapel.
