Obituary

Pearlean Williams, 60 years old of Parkdale, AR departed her dear life on June 23, 2021 at Morehouse General Hospital in Bastrop, La. She was a member of Penny's Chapel C.M.E. of Parkdale, Ar. She graduated from Parkdale High School. After leading Parkdale High School to the girls' overall state basketball championship in the 1980s, she went on to attend college at the University of Arkansas at Monticello in Monticello, AR where she rewrote the school record book and was later inducted to the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2002. She became one of the most decorated athletes in UAM history, earning first team All-American honors three times. She was also inducted into the Ashley County Hall of Fame. She was a resident of Parkdale, AR until her death.

She is preceded in death by mother Atheline Davidson; father George Davidson; brothers Larry Davidson, and Samuel Davidson; sisters Linda Davidson, and Betty Faye Davidson.

Pearlean is survived by her loving husband Willie Williams of 35 years of Parkdale, AR; daughter Latasha (Steve) Campbell of Parkdale, AR; two sons, Jonathan Williams of White Hall, AR, and Jeremiah Williams of Parkdale, AR; three grand-daughters Aerial Campbell and India Campbell both of Parkdale, AR,and Taylor Williams of Maumelle, AR; honorary grand-son Christopher Evans of Eudora, AR; nine sisters, Grady Lewis of Manteca, CA, Atheline (Earl) Goodwin of Augusta, GA, Shirley Owens of Hot Springs, AR, Georgia (Marzell) Morris of Parkdale, AR, Barbara Davidson of Portland, AR , Cerritha Davidson of Little Rock, AR, Betty Davidson of Hamburg, AR  Bernada Davidson of Hamburg, AR, Martha Davidson of Hamburg, AR; six brothers, Bennie Strickland of Indianapolis, In, Louis Mitchell of Parkdale, AR, George Davidson III of Monticello, AR, George Davidson IV of Houston, TX, Michael Davidson(Laretta) of Hamburg, AR, and Eddie Davidson of Fountain Hill, AR; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Cromwell Funeral Home from 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM.

Graveside Service is Friday, July 2, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Childress Chapel Cemetery in Parkdale, AR with Rev. Ray Lee McCloyn.
