James Edward Green, age 55 of Crossett, Arkansas, died Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Christus Shreveport-Bossier Health System in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was a native of Bastrop but a resident of Crossett for the past twenty-five years.  Mr. Green was an employee of Georgia Pacific for twenty-two years, a truck driver for two years and a minister where he pastored Fudge Chapel Missionary Baptist Church for the past seven years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Addeline Gibson-Green; a brother, Charles Green, Jr.; three sisters, Hattie Mae Stephen, Barbara Garrett and Carolyn. Pastor Green loved music and leading people to Christ.  He was an inspiration to all who knew and met him.

Pastor Green is survived by his wife of 20 years, Sharon Gilliam-Green; six daughters, Kimberly Hawkins (Mark) and Cassie Armstrong, both of Bastrop, LA, Smeitha Hawkins of League City, TX, La Kandra Haynes, Jamie Green and Eboni Green all of Crossett, AR; one sister, Annie Bea Mason (Henry) of Bastrop, LA; mother in law, Mattie Gilliam; God parents, Rickey and Ruth White and Willie Gay; God sisters, Melba Wright and Carolyn Davis; twelve grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

Funeral services are at 11:00AM on Wednesday, January 24 ^th , 2018 at New Bethel Baptist Church in Crossett with Rev. Curtis Jackson officiating.  Pallbearers are Clarence Hawkins, Robert Hawkins, Cedric Tucker, Kenneth Childress, Thomas Dejournette and Cornelius Girtman, Jr.  Honorary Pallbearers are Deacons and Trustees of Fudge Baptist Church and Crossett Ministerial Alliance.  Burial will be in Phillip Grove Cemetery.  Visitation is from 5:30 to 6:30PM on Tuesday.
