Obituary

Oscar Tate 73, of Bastrop, LA transitioned Friday November 21, 2025, at Paradigm at Katy in Katy, TX. He was a native of Crossett, AR, but a resident of Bastrop for over 20 years. Mr. Tate was a member of New Evergreen Baptist Church and a Georgia Pacific Plywood Mill retiree of twenty-nine years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Annie B. Tate, two sisters, Tressie Cromwell, Janie Jamerson, three brothers, Willie Tate, James Mitchell Tate, and Andre' Tate. Oscar loved watching action movies and shopping, he was always very well dressed.

He is survived by six brothers Aubrey Tate wife Redenna of Crossett, AR, Charles Ray Tate of Crossett, AR, Jessie Tate of Crossett, AR, Jimmie Tate of Eldorado, AR, John Tate of Forney, TX, Ricky Tate of Crossett, AR, Jeffrey Tate wife LaJetta of Crossett, AR, one sister, Darlene Tate of Crossett, AR, a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Visitation will be Friday December 5, 2025, from 5:00-6:00 P.M. at Cromwell Funeral Home in Hamburg, AR. Funeral services will be Saturday December 6, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at New Evergreen Baptist Church in Bastrop, LA with Reverend Louis James officiating. Pallbearers are members of New Evergreen. Burial in Westview Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
