Mr. Oliver Collton Wright, Jr., 63, of Crossett, AR, died Sunday, November 15, 2015 at the Ashley County Medical Center. He was a native of Pine Bluff, AR, was a former resident of Warren, AR, and had lived in Crossett for the past 42 years. He was a retiree of Bemis Bag Company and was a member of First Baptist Church on Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive.
He was preceded in death by his parents Oliver and Alene Sterling Wright, Sr. and Frank Mason, his sisters Gladys Smith & Verlene Campbell and his best buddy; his dog, Romeo on November 8. Mr. Wright was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed watching T.V., especially horror movies, basketball and the news.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Melba Girtman Wright, two sons, Bruce Wright of Memphis, TN & Ja Mar Wright of Crossett, AR, one daughter, Deneitra Anderson of Crossett, AR, two sisters: Genniev Allen of Sallis, MI and Roberta Clary of Warren, AR, nine grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews other family, loved ones and friends.
Funeral services are Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church with Rev. Curtis Jackson, Sr., officiating. Active pallbearers are Edward Brown, Brian Miles, Sr., Napolean Brown, Stephen James, Cornelius Girtman, Jr & Sirl Wright. Honorary pallbearers are the First Baptist Men and Bemis Bag Company Employees. Burial in Westview Cemetery.
Visitation Friday, November 20 from 6-7:30 pm in the chapel of Cromwell Funeral Home.
