Mr. Murray DeWayne Cockrell, 71, of Crossett, died Friday, June 22, 2018, at his home. He was a life-long resident of Crossett and a retired crane operator on the wood yard for Georgia Pacific Paper Mill. He was of Baptist Faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 29 years, Billie Mae Clark-Cockrell, in March of 2002; a son, Steven Wallace Mills, in May of 2004; a granddaughter, Jordan McKenzie Mills; his parents, Mance and Alma Dorothy Cockrell; two brothers, Jimmy Eugene and Glen Davis Cockrell and a sister, Brenda Tomerlin. Murray loved his family and enjoyed camping and fishing.
His is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Lain and companion, James O'Bannon, of Crossett; a son, Albert Ray Mills, wife Sherri, of Crossett; two brothers, Lonnie Cockrell, wife Annette, of Hamburg and Anthony Cockrell, wife Penny, of Crossett; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at 1:00PM, at Hedge Cemetery near Crossett, with Brother Donald Stafford officiating. Honorary Pallbearers are Daniel Bailey, Rusty Little, Billy Joe Cotton, Billy Herrington, Keith Edgar, and John Louis Surratt. No visitation.
