Monzella Rowels, age 92, of Portland, AR passed away Saturday October 23, 2021 at The Woods of Monticello Nursing Home. She was a native of Boydell, AR, but was a resident of Portland, and past resident of Detroit, MI for 69 years. She was a homemaker. She was a  member of Peace and Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband Nathaniel Rowels; four brothers James, William, Jewel, and Louis Carolina; five sisters Dorothy Bethune, Nebraska Carolina, Murial Watts, Evelyn Cleary, and Johnnie Mae Oliver.

She loved her church. She enjoyed reading, playing bingo, and cards.

She is survived by one brother Henry (Virgil) Carolina of Montrose, AR; two sisters Aretha Moseby of Portland, AR and Teretha Woods of Montrose, AR; and a host of nephews, nieces, other family members, and friends.

Funeral Services 11 A.M. Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Cromwell Funeral Home Chapel in Hamburg, AR with Rev. Naryan David Leazer officiating. Pallbearers Reginald Moseby, Eric Moseby, Edward Moseby III, Patrick Smith, LeTrevious Armour, and Thomas Scholle-Malone . Honorary Pallbearers Edward Moseby Jr., Zimmie Moseby, John Moseby, and Leotise Marshall.

Burial to follow at Saint Marion Cemetery in Portland, AR.
