Mr. Milton Preston Simmons, 90 of Fountain Hill, AR, died Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at his residence. He was a lifelong resident of Fountain Hill, and a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church, where he served as Steward President and Trustee President. He served in the US Army and was a WWII Veteran, and was also a mason, member of Hamburg Lodge #232. He served on the Fountain Hill School Board for 10 years, and he loved growing vegetables in his garden. He was preceded in death by his wife Minnie Simmons, two daughters, Dorothy Miller & Betty Bryan, one grandson, Levell Robinson,his parents, Willie & Aurthie Gould Simmons, two brothers, Robert Simmons & Wayne Simmons, and two sisters, Jereldine Standeford & Aurthie Bell Simmons.

He is survived by one son, Wandy Simmons, wife Teresa, of St. Louis, MO, two daughters, Brenda Simmons Harris and Audrey Dianne Simmons both of St. Louis, MO, eight grandchildren: Cassandra Simpson, Peggy Toe, Chandra Simmons, Sommer Nance, Brittany Robotham, Lauren Crawford, Andre Robinson, Quinn Simmons, Jason Simmons, five great grandchildren two great-great grandchildren, and one god-son, Eric Woods.

Funeral services are Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 1:00 pm at Bethel A.M.E. Church with Rev. Christopher Goodman officiating. Pallbearers are Rickey Daniels, Clarence Brooks, Dennis Girtman, Jerry Miller, Raegan Craig & Lamar Hill. Honorary pallbearers are Hamburg Lodge #232 and the Bethel A.M.E. Stewards and Trustees. Visitation Friday, July 9 from 6-8 pm at Cromwell. Burial in Norris Hill Cemetery under the directions of Cromwell Funeral Home.
