Mrs. Mildred Irene Woods, 91, of Montrose, AR passed away July 21, 2018 at the Dermott City Nursing Home.  She was a native of Portland, but a resident of Montrose.  She was a homemaker and a member of Brown Temple Baptist Church in Portland, AR.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Elijah Stepps; one son, James Leppol, one daughter, Merline Stepps-Johnson; her parents, Carter and Maybell William-Woods; three brothers, Perry, James, and Clayborn Woods; four sisters, Geraldine Harvey, Dora Gibson, Lucille Walker, and Buleah Woods.  Mildred was a devoted Mother and Grandmother.  She enjoyed cooking for her family and fishing.
She is survived by three sons, George Stepps, wife Pearly, of Pine Bluff, AR, Charles Bynum, wife Jackie, of Portland, AR, and Danny Woods, wife Gloria, of Pine Bluff, AR; two daughters, Brenda Lacey, husband Willie, of Bastrop, LA and Sharon Johnson, husband Danny, of Montrose, AR; one brother, William "Sonnyman"Woods, wife Geneva, who was more like a sister to her, of Montrose, AR; sister-in-law, Hazel Woods; twenty-five grandchildren; fifty-three great-grandchildren; thirteen great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Services will be Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 3:30PM at Brown Temple Baptist Church, 693 Highway 160 East, Portland, AR, with Rev. Walter Witherspoon officiating.  Pallbearers will be Melvin Crow, Kristopher Stepps, Kelvin Stepps, Michael Porter, Maxx Webb, and Charles Lacey.  Honorary Pallbearers will be her sons, her brother, and Willie Lacey.  Burial will be at Montrose Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, July 27, 2018 from 5:00PM-7:00PM at Brown Temple Baptist Church.
