Michael Andrew Cox, age 66 of Hamburg, AR, transitioned Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Ashley County Medical Center. He was a lifelong resident of Hamburg, a computer technician for Hamburg Public Schools, and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sr., and Mardell Cox, one brother, Robert Cox, Jr., and infant twin sisters. Michael enjoyed playing computer games and watching soccer. He was instrumental in starting the Hamburg Soccer Team.

He is survived by one brother: Carl Sr. and Patricia Cox of Crossett, AR; five sisters, Wanda and husband Clarence Daniels of Fountain Hill, AR, Debra and husband Vernon Fisher, Mary and husband J.W. Brown, Linda and husband Clifford Hawkins, and Marcella Wilson all of Hamburg, AR, a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, friends, and by the countless students whose lives he touched and whose hearts will forever carry his memory.

Funeral Service is Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church Hamburg with Sadoc Ben Israel officiating. Pallbearers are Jeremy Simpson, Kaleb Smith, Aaron Brown, Tim Mooney, Jamarious Wilson, Rahmir Baldwin, Tony Vincent, and Sylvester Clemons, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are the Hamburg High School Soccer Team and HHS Class of 1978. Burial will be in Johnson Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, Arkansas.
