Obituary

Mrs. Melva Jean Edwards, 65 of Crossett, AR, died Sunday, April 10, 2011 at her residence. She was a lifelong resident of Crossett, a retired Jade's grocery store clerk, and was a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Louis Edwards, parents Luther and Clara Lee Wine Collins, and one granddaughter Cassandra Burns. Melva enjoyed cooking, shopping, and she also worked with the foster grand-parent program with Hasting Schools. Her family was very important to her, and her grand-children were the joy of her life.

She is survived by two sons, Tommy James Edwards of Crossett, AR and Timmy Roderick Johnson, wife Kim of Arlington, TX, two daughters, Marva Burns of Crossett, AR and Stephanie Radford, husband Quintin of Gurdon, AR and eight grandchildren, Baylor, Caleb, Kyle, Khorsyn Radford, Claire, Keylee, Timothy, and Kimberly Johnson.

Services will be 11:00 AM Friday, April 15, 2011 at the New Bethel Baptist Church with Pastor Jesse Radford Jr. officiating. Visitation will be Thursday 6:00 to 7:00 at Cromwell Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Tate, Calvin Johnson, Bobby Ray Brown, Charles Moore, Albert Goodwin, and Jimmy Thorton. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
