Mearl Washington, 70 of Bastrop, LA, transitioned Wednesday December 25, 2024, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Crossett (White Station Community) AR, a Georgia Pacific Plywood Mill retiree. Mrs. Washington was a faithful member of Holly Grove Church where she served on the Pastoral Committee and as Sunday School Secretary.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Junior and Loriene Childress Tucker, two brothers Doyle and Johnny Ray Tucker, and two sisters Daisy Lene Gill, and Lurlene Hollins. She was a graduate of the Crossett High School class of 1973. Mearl enjoyed working in her garden, going to church, shopping, decorating, and spending time with her family. Her greatest love was the activities she and her husband, Roosevelt, shared together.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Roosevelt Washington of Bastrop, LA, two sons Jarodney and Patrick Washington both of Bastrop, LA, two grandchildren, Jordan Washington and Milton Poindexter both of Bastrop, LA, two brothers, Henry and Gene Tucker, one sister, Mary Washington all of Crossett, AR, a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Visitation is Thursday, January 2, 2025, from 5:30-6:30 P.M. at Cromwell Funeral Home. Funeral Service is Friday, January 3, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Fudge Baptist Church with Pastor Jesse Radford, Jr. officiating. Pallbearers are James Lee, Eddy Hawkins, Jr., Doyle Tucker, Jr., Perry Lovett, Cedric Tucker, and Russell Canley. Honorary Pallbearers CHS Class of 1973, Walter Hendrix, Jordan Washington, and Milton Poindexter. Burial in Ryles Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
