Mrs. Mazie Johnson Pitts, 49 of Hamburg, AR, died Friday, October 11, 2013 at University of AR Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. She was a native of Montrose, AR, but a resident of Hamburg, a homemaker, and a member of Emmanuel Temple C.O.G.I.C.

Mrs. Pitts was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Pitts, her parents, Charlie & Pearlie Lee Shelton-Johnson and four brothers: Charlie Jr., Michael, Nathan and David Lee Johnson. She loved crafts and gospel music. She also loved working with the youth in her church.

She is survived by two daughters, Rolanda Grandy, husband Edward of Monticello, AR and Kanesia Pitts of Hamburg, AR, one brother, Malcolm Johnson of Conway, AR, five sisters: Pearlie Johnson of Montrose, AR, Annetha Downs, Patricia Dickerson, Stelia Stanley, husband Elijah & Elnora Robinson, husband Walter all of Hamburg, AR, three grandchildren, Caleb Owens, Keonna Tolefree, Edward Grandy, Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and loved ones.

Funeral services are Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Emmanuel Temple C.O.G.I.C. with Bishop Danny C. Mays, officiating. Pallbearers are Dan Smith, Glen Stanley, Wayne Pugh, Troy Webb, John Ware, Kevin Stroud, Eddie Mays & Walter Robinson. Honorary pallbearers are Earnest Cromwell, Jr. and Chris Mays. Burial in Montrose Cemetery under the directions of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
