Mrs. Mary Maudie Lee Hennington-Tanksley, 79 of Crossett, AR, died Sunday, January 8, 2012 at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock, AR. She was a native of Parkdale, AR, and a resident of Crossett for the past 50 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Jarvis Chapel Baptist Church. Mrs. Tanksley enjoyed reading, doing word puzzles, listening to gospel and country music, and her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Travis Tanksley, one son, Jerry Dewayne Tanksley, her parents, Nathaniel and Gladys Hazel Jordan Hennington Norrell, and one brother, Eugene Hennington.
Survived by five sons, Willie Thanksley, wife Dona of Stuttgart, AR, Terry Tanksley, wife Cheryl of Bastrop, LA, Frankie, and Nathan Tanksley, wife Michelle all of Crossett, AR, Phillip Tanksley of Lake Village, AR, three daughters, Shelby Parker, husband Carroll, Cathy Johnson, husband Wayne, Donna Johnson, husband Tim all of Crossett, AR, two brothers, Hubert Ricks, wife Ginger of Pine Bluff, AR, G.W. Ricks, wife Mattie of Monticello, AR, two sisters, Hettie Clark of Hamburg, AR, Maurice Bonnett, husband Jim of Monroe, LA, twenty five grandchildren, thirty eight great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and a host of other family members and friends.
Funeral services are Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at 11:00 am at Jarvis Chapel Baptist Church with Bro. Lloyd Gibbs and Rev. Ricky Pack officiating. Pallbearers are Richie Tanksley, Brannon Smith, John Parker, Bryan Tanksley, Junior Tanksley, Rusty Tanksley, Chad King, and Luke Saucier. Honorary Pallbearers are Brad Tanksley, Wayne Pippen, Anthony Tanksley, and Josh Tanksley. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Jarvis Chapel Baptist Church, 1018 Ashley 14 N., Crossett, AR from 6-8:00 pm. Burial in Promise Land Cemetery in Hamburg, under the directions of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR. Memorials may be given to Jarvis Chapel Bus Fund.
