Mrs. Mary Brooks, 71, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at the HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of the Mid-Cities in Bedford, TX. She was a lifelong resident of Wilmot, a retired Elementary School Teacher, and a member of the First Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by one daughter: Shirley Brooks (May 8, 2000); her parents William Lindsey "Jack" and Viola McAdoo-Bass; two brothers: John William Bass, and William Lindsey Jr. Bass; three sisters: Annie Pearl Clark, Helen Marie Brown, and Emma Jean Bass. Mary Ella was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed family and friends. She was an inspiration to all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years Lacy Brooks; two sons: William Lewis, companion LaShaunda of Bonita, LA; Steven Brooks, wife Keisha of North Richland Hill, TX; one daughter: Willie Ann Jenkins, husband Calvin of Shreveport, LA; three brothers: Jimmy Ray Bass, wife Willie Ruth of Kilbourne, LA; Lamar Zachary "L.Z" Bass, wife Sandra of Little Rock, AR; Albert "A.B." Bass of Wilmot, AR; twelve grandchildren, one great-grandchild and a host of relatives, friends, and loved ones.

Funeral Services are 10:30AM Saturday, February 13, 2016 at First Baptist Church with Reverend Albert Fenceroy, officiating. Pallbearers are Darren McAdoo, Randall Shelton, Cleveland Parker, Jimmy Ray Bass Jr., Anthony Ruff, and Alvis Jordan. Honorary Pallbearers are Deacons and Trustees of First Baptist Church. Burial in St. Martha Cemetery.
