Ms. Martha Jean Cain, 60, of Lake Village, AR, died Friday, January 1, 2010 at Chicot Memorial Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Lake Village, a retired school teacher, and a member of New Hope Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, church treasurer, and a director of vacation Bible School. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim & Velma Mae Miller Cain, one brother, Fudge "Diddy Bo" Williams, and one sister, Louise Webb.
She is survived by one son, Patrick B. Cain, wife Debra of Chicago, IL, one daughter, Pamala Harkless, husband Burlkey of Lewisville, TX, two brothers, Jim Cain, Jr., of Chicago, IL & Rev. Tyler Cain, wife Jessie of Conway, AR, six sisters: Clementine Lewis, husband Howard, Jeraldine Tucker, Alberta Watts, Evylene Kirkendolph all of Lake Village, AR, Ruby Smith, husband Edward of Pine Bluff, AR, Linda Rose Cain of Eudora, AR, fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are Friday, January 8, 2010 at 1:00 PM at New Hope Baptist Church in Lake Village. Visitation, Thursday, January 7 from 5:30-7:30 pm at New Hope Baptist. Pallbearers are Vincent Tucker, Gregory McCree, Charles Brooks, Marcus Green, Barkley Harkless, Maurice Norman and Gary Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Patrick Cain, Jr., Jordan Henry, Fabian Cain, Robert Cain & Wilbert Gentry. Burial in New Cemetery.
