Mr. L.W. Ward, 65 of Hamburg, died Monday, April 4, 2011 at his home. He was a lifelong resident of Hamburg, and a retiree of the former Hamburg Shirt Factory. He was a member of the Rolfe Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents George Ward and Lucy Lee Lamb Ward, one brother Willard Ward, and two sisters Betty Sue Doss and Carolyn Jean Ebarb. He was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and raising his rabbits.


Mr. Ward is survived by his wife of 25 years, JoAnne King Ward of Hamburg, two sons Jeffrey Ward, wife Natasha of Crossett, AR, L.W. Ward Jr., wife Soraya of Bastrop, LA, two daughters Adrianna Ward and fiancé Korey Keirsey, and Rose Grey, husband Keith of Bastrop, LA, and one sister Lucille Ward of Hamburg and five grand-children Chris and Erica Hale, Alyson and Brantley Ward, and Logan Lane Kiersey.


Services are Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 2:00 pm at Rolfe Chapel Free Will Baptist Church with Bro. Carlton White officiating. Pallbearers are Johnny King, Joe King, Kenny Wayne Tharpe, Ricky Pruitt, Brian Bolin, Chad King and Jerry Walton. Visitation Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at Rolfe Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, 786 Hwy. 82, Crossett, AR. Burial in Hamburg Cemetery under the directions of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.
