Obituary

Mrs. Lucille Strickland, 83, of Wilmot, died Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at Chicot Memorial Hospital in Lake Village. She was a retired CNA of Wilmot Nursing Home, a member of the Union Baptist Church in Wilmot. Mrs. Strickland loved cooking and working in her vegetable and flower garden. She was proceded in death by her husband, Leon Strickland, father, George Sherman, mother, Rosie Lee Williams Smith, step-father, J.R. Smith, one brother, Roosevelt Reed, two sisters, Mary Lou Brown and Ora Lee Smith.

She is survived by three sons, Lee Henry Smith of Kansas City, MO, Paul Strickland and Patrick Strickland, both of Wilmot, six daughters, Agnes Strickland & friend, Greg, of Wilmot, Shirley Moore & husband, Robert, Mary Moore, Patrice Green, all of Kansas City, MO, Loretta Brooks of Wilmot, Eliza Strickland of Kansas City, MO, two sisters, Miesha Davis & husband, Shawn, of White Hall, AR, Latrece Haynes & husband, Freddy, of Pine Bluff, one Great-Aunt, Thelma Brim Olive of Lake Village, 23 grandchildren & 21 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Monday, January 4, 2010, 6-7 p.m. at Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral services are Tuesday, January 5,at 1:00 pm at Union Baptist Church in Wilmot, with Rev. David Green officiating. Pallbearers are Curtis Hillard, Jimmie Stanley, Harvest Moore, Frank, Ramey, Bill Kitchen, Calvin Brown, Clyde Ramey, & Willie Rogers. Honorary Pallbearers are Napoleon Smith, Bernard Sherrer, Ricky Moore, Preston Smith, Markelo Brooks, & Fredrick Brooks. Burial will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc. in Hamburg.
