Obituary

Mrs. Louise Jefferson, age 81 of Crossett, died Monday, February 28th at Ashley County Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Charleston, MS but a resident of Crossett for over 52 years. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church of Crossett. Family was most important to her. She enjoyed working word puzzles and watching TV game shows.

Mrs. Jefferson is preceded in death by one daughter, Sherry Jefferson; one son, Vaughn Jefferson; her parents, Frank and Emma Robinson Jefferson and one grandson, Jason Jefferson.

She is survived by four sons, Johnny Jefferson, Jr. and wife Elouise of Silver Springs, MD, Lionel Jefferson and wife Leann of Kansas City, KS, Dennis Jefferson of Fairfield, CA and Wayne Jefferson and wife Dianne of Sacramento, CA; four daughters, Rose Sims and husband Michael of Crossett, Patricia Matheney of Crossett, Constance and husband Julius DeBerry of Jackson, TN and Regina Smith and husband James of Jackson, TN. One adopted brother, Charles and wife Helen Brown of Crossett, her special caregiver, Keyshon Langstaff of Crossett; Eighteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 4th at 3:00pm at Davis Memorial Church of God in Christ in Crossett with Rev. Julius DeBerry, Sr. and Rev. Roy Matheney, Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Westview Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home, Inc. . Pallbearers are Alfred Davis, Timothy Davis, Perry Johnson, William Willis, Curtis Harris, Tony Tatum, David Childress and Darrell Gilbert. Honorary pallbearers are her grandsons. Visitation is at David Memorial Church of God in Christ on Thursday, March 3rd from 6:00 to 8:00pm.
