Levell Hampton, age 68 of Crossett, AR, died Sunday, June 24, 2012 at National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs, AR. He was a lifelong resident of Crossett, AR, a retiree of the USDA Forestry, a member of the Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church, and a Mason, member of Exodus Lodge # 403. Levell enjoyed riding horses, playing dominos, hunting, fishing, and loved football and basketball. His favorite teams were the New Orleans Saints and the Los Angeles Lakers.

He was preceded in death by one son, Darryl Hampton, his parents, Rev. Dallas and Elizabeth Carney-Hampton, three brothers: Junior, Walter, and Clinton Hampton, and one sister, Dorothy Wright.

Survivors include his wife of forty-nine years, Edna Jones-Hampton, four sons: Cedric Hampton of Crossett, AR, Darryl Levell Hampton of Atlanta, GA, Cedric Hampton, Jr. of Crossett, AR, and Destiney Hampton, wife Brittany of Norfolk, VA, three daughters: Cheryl Robinson, husband Rick of Crossett, AR, Tina Hampton, Bianca Hampton both of Kansas City, MO, six brothers: Raymond, Billy, Johnny, Charles, and Roy Hampton all of Crossett, AR, and Troy Hampton of Camden, AR, six sisters: Bulah Mae Daniels of Crossett, AR, Mary Lou Hendrix, Ella Maxine-Sanford, Leola Davis, Lois Hampton all of Vallejo, CA, Corene Hampton of Sacramento, CA, four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services Friday, June 29, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at New Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Walter Witherspoon officiating. Pallbearers are Sherman Dawkins, Cedric Hampton, Jr., Destiney Hampton, A.J. Hampton, Darryl Hampton, and D.J. Hampton. Honorary Pallbearers are T.W. Daniels Class of 1961, Maxwell Hunting Club, and the Domino Club. Visitation is Thursday, June 28, 2012 from 6-8:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Burial in Westview Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
