Mr. Lester Dooley, 88 of Hamburg died Friday, October 15, 2010 at the Pinewood Rehabilitation Center in Crossett. He was a native of Macon, Mississippi but a resident of Hamburg for the past 70 years. He was a retired Timber worker and a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Dooley was also a devoted family man.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Mary Louise Dooley; his parents: Rufus and Clara Halbert Dooley; two stepsons: Freddie and Dennis Perry; one brother: Rufus Dooley, Jr.; and one sister: Annie Paskel.
He is survived by one son: Rickey Dooley and wife Agnes of Dallas, Texas; two daughters: Judia Dooley of Hamburg and Janell Davis of Dallas, Texas; one sister Ethel Chandler and husband Esse of Macon, Mississippi; twenty-two grandchildren; forty-five great grandchildren; thirteen great great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 1:00PM at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Willie R. Taylor and Bishop Alfonso Madden officiating. Pallbearers are Theodore Simkins, Shurun Jenkins, Dwight Tippie, Carl Lewis, George Howard, Jr., and Baron Johnson. Interment will be at Pugh Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg.
