Mrs. Katherine Sawyer, 77 of Crossett, AR, died Monday, June 2, 2014 at the Ashley County Medical Center. She was a native of Drew County (Longview Community), a retiree of Georgia Pacific Plywood Mill, and was a member of Kingdom Builders Outreach Ministries.

She was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Dewayne Sawyer, one daughter, Shirley Ann Hendrix, her parents: Green and Ouida Mae Miller Martin, one brother, MacArthur Martin, three sisters: Earnestine Brooks, Christine Brown and Hazeline Foster. Mrs. Sawyer enjoyed cooking, sewing and fishing.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Thomas "Tom" Sawyer, two daughters, Mary L. Sawyer of Crossett, AR and Evelyn Sawyer-Forte of Nashville, TN, two brothers, James Martin, wife Mary Jean and Leroy Martin, wife Aquanetta all of Crossett, AR, three grandchildren, Anthony Dawkins & Sandy Sawyer-Williams both of Crossett, AR, Tyler W. Forte of Nashville, TN, two great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives, loved ones and friends.

Funeral services are Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 11:00 am at Davis Memorial C.O.G.I.C. with Rev. Curtis Johnson officiating. Active pallbearers are Alfred James, Derrick Hayes, Cornelius Williams, Charlie Miller, Kenneth Childress & Cornelius Girtman. Honorary pallbearers are Anthony Brooks, Darryl Bryant, Anthony Dawkins & Tyler Forte. Burial in Quinn Cemetery.

Visitation Friday, June 6, 2014 from 6-8 at Cromwell Funeral Home.
